life can be full of expectations — standards, rules, + protocols as we sometimes like to call them.
we’ve all had our fair share of assigning them AND conforming to them.
but at what point do expectations of ourselves + others limit our perspectives + our life experiences?
are you living for the approval of others?
are you expecting others to be you?
do you have rigid expectations of yourself that lead to massive disappointment if not adhered to?
today, examine the expectations you’ve put on yourself + others.
really dig deep into how they may be affecting your life:
how do other’s expectations of you affect your inner voice + self talk?
how do your expectations of yourself affect your inner voice + self talk?
how do the expectations you place on others determine how you interact with them — are you accepting of them wholly, completely, + unconditionally?
shit — do you accept yourself wholly, completely, + unconditionally?
expectations have their place, but their place isn’t to govern every single one of your life decisions.
you are multifaceted — way more complex than any expectation ever placed on you!
give yourself room to freely move,
to breathe,
+ to find your way through life without judgment or constraints.
your capabilities far exceed the limitations that expectations placed on you bring.
extend grace to yourself + others by accepting that we all have a choice to live life on their own terms regardless of the expectations placed on us.
be you, be dope!
