sadly, the dog ate my homework

to improve your future, you must learn + grow from the past.

most importantly, you have to be honest with yourself about what’s happened in your life.

objectivity is key, fam.

look at what’s happened + pinpoint not the feelings you felt when something happened, but rather the facts of what happened.

when you think about it, “sadly, the dog ate my homework” is much different than “the dog ate my homework“.

the first sentence evokes emotion while the second sentence plainly states what happened in the moment + makes it neither good or bad, it simply is.

how you feel about the past + what really happened are vastly different.

by focusing strictly on what’s happened, you give yourself a fair chance to course correct in the present.

this is by no means telling you to not feel your feels, fam.

look at this as a challenge to rewire your current perceptions in an effort to help you focus on what was + what is vs. how you feel about what has happened —

without truly acknowledging what happened in an objective way, what options are available to you to move forward with intention?

today, be as objective about your past + present as possible.

you don’t have to feel successful to be successful.

you don’t have to feel wealthy to be wealthy.

you don’t have to feel privileged to be privileged.

today, did you do the things that are necessary for the shift you wish to experience?

do your actions align with what you want to accomplish?

do your actions today support the change you wish you see from past behaviors?

you can feel how you wanna feel about it, but are you doing the work, fam?

objective acknowledgement of your past + present actions is how your improve your future.

this is where we start today.

be you, be dope!
