however you expect yourself to act in a situation,
do yourself a big one + act better than that expectation.
it doesn’t take much to do a little more, fam.
investing a tad bit more time + efforts into what you do can lend to extraordinary results.
today, focus on the ways you can elevate your current actions:
- say ‘please’ + ‘thank you’
- substitute ‘you’re welcome’ with ‘it’s been my pleasure’
- offer to help set up or clean up before or after an event (5-10 minutes is better than nothing 🤷🏾♀️)
- slow down + allow people to pass you or merge onto the road without feeling the urge to speed up to box them out (road ragers, i’m speaking to you 👀)
- support a friend by spreading the word about their business, liking + sharing their advertisement, +/or otherwise engaging with their content
- congratulate someone on their efforts
- listen intently + thank someone for sharing their story
- take care while plating your food + make your version of art on the plate
- encourage + inspire others to live a full + rich life by living a full + rich life yourself
- say ‘i love you. thanks for being you!’ upon departure +/or at a conversation end with your friends + family
going “above + beyond” is easier to do than most people realize + it completely resets not only the expectations of yourself, but can challenge + potentially change the expectations of others.
do what you do,
do it with confidence,
do it well,
+ do it better than you’ve done it before.
be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:
what is something that you did or a situation that you handled today that’s better than what you expected yourself to do/handle? would you put that much effort into that situation again? why or why not?
