starting small is better than nothing at all

i read a brilliant quote by Patti LaBelle that says,

“the smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention.”

for some reason, it instantly took my mind to showing up for someone.

you may not have money or lavish gifts, but the thought of showing up physically or sending your love + thoughts in snail mail, a text, or a phone call to show someone you care can have the grandest impact on their lives.

it’s not only the thought that counts, it’s the follow through that matters.

small deeds. huge impact.

all of the intentions you have right now are wishes unless you do something about them.

setting the intention to inspire + energize dope chicks to live life on their own terms (one of mine) requires action.

a small deed for me today?

sharing with you a perspective on how starting small is better than doing nothing at all.

each word written brings me one step closer to connecting with you on a heart felt level.

but no connection would happen without action — me writing, you reading.

there must be something you can do today that will bring you closer to living your life on you own terms, fam.

if your intention is to let love rule in your life, then the act of receiving a compliment given to you (none of that “who me?” junk) + allowing others to show you love is a way to align with the life you desire to live. small deed.

set the intention to be more patient with yourself + others? giving someone the benefit of the doubt + space to make mistakes is a small act of kindness that ultimately serves as a reflection of how you can treat yourself. small act, big impact.

you set the intention of making your physical health a priority, yeah? showing up for your workout, drinking water, or bypassing the fast food joint are three of many small deeds you can do today.

whatever you can do today, do it with intention.

true transformation will occur when you convert your thoughts + ideas (intentions) into intentional + conscious action (deeds).

start where you are with what you have.

starting small > nothing at all.

be you, be dope!
