take it easy, fam

lately, you’ve been really doubling down on:

worrying

complaining

making assumptions

standing firm in outdated beliefs

are you in maximum security prison or are you free?

’cause the way you’ve been treating life lately has been very telling.

the audacity of you criticizing your body —

the same body that has endured scrapes, bruises, negative self-talk, shame, growth spurts, + warded off sicknesses + diseases for your overall well being —

what negative statements can you truly make about that?

+ then you’ve got a nerve to look down on yourself + others for not meeting certain standards or expectations.

are we not all learning, growing, + doing the best we can with what we have now?

take it easy, fam.

the pressure that you’re putting on yourself + others isn’t sustainable + quite frankly, it isn’t fair.

remember that life is what it is.

accept that though you cannot change what has already happened, you have a choice in this moment to change what is here + now, even if that looks like only changing your attitude right now.

take the shackles off your feet, break every chain, + free yourself from the constant judgment + self-imposed limitations that you + society have put on yourself.

a glorious + grand life is available to you right now.

be fully present, take in, + enjoy this moment.

when you release the expectations + rules you + others have put on life, this will be the first of many more amazing days + moments to come.

be you, be dope!
