how do you react when you’re met with criticism?
do you take it personal?
do you allow it to affect your mood?
take the time to consider the source before reacting.
actually, scratch that.
feel free to challenge me on this (i’m open to dialogue), but…
believing that only a certain type of person can criticize us is, well… 😬
it’s an opportunity for us to examine exactly how open we are to growth + how dedicated we are to implementing what we’ve learned about life.
there. i said it. 😮💨
people are gonna have opinions.
they are going to say what they say + direct (unsolicited) advice our way + guess what you can do about it, fam?
accept it + move on.
remember: acceptance doesn’t mean agreement.
we can accept that something has been said without accepting the spoken words as our own truths.
simply put: what’s said has been said + some shit won’t apply to you, so know you can choose to leave it where it originated.
acceptance, for us, is the first step to living life on our own terms.
it’s the first step to forgiveness.
it’s the first step to loving unconditionally.
it’s the first step to growth.
it’s the first step to speaking up for yourself.
it’s the first step to peace.
it’s the first step to freedom.
ask yourself: am i willing to accept the criticism i receive with grace + appreciation?
grace + appreciation are next level maturity + discernment is key to determining what you’ll apply + what you’ll let fly on by!
there’s a learning opportunity in even the wonkiest of criticism.
are you down to see it?
be you, be dope!
