the reason i encourage us, myself + others, to explore “why” so much is not to seem intrusive or to cast judgment,
but rather to invite us to get intimate with, to connect with, + to ask ourselves by asking, “what does it mean to me?“
when something means nothing to you, do you ever step back to ask yourself: why am i really doing this?
am i truly living a life that i innately know is for me?
no one can tell you how to live your life.
now before this moment? that may have been the norm.
maybe as a kid you didn’t feel like you had any other choice but to go along with the plans the adults in your life made for you.
remind yourself today:
i am free to make decisions regarding my own life. i can say “no” + i can say “yes“. i can start, stop, pivot, + pause as i please. i can walk away + i can revisit. i can go in circles + i can go off the beaten path. i am intentional with my life choices, + what i choose for me comes from a sacred, meaningful, + purposeful place.
deep down inside, you know why you’re doing what you’re doing.
you may have a difficult time putting it into words or haven’t quite nailed down the origin of the feeling quite yet, but your why is still there.
today, go to a quiet place + give yourself permission to explore your heart’s deepest desires.
there you’ll find an innate feeling, an inner standing, that is pivotal to your progress + personal journey.
whatever the reason, encourage yourself to explore who you are + why you do what you do on a deeper level.
real talk: you’re part of something way bigger + you’ll discover that your why is, too.
it’s time to get to know + reconnect with you.
be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:
take a moment to sit with the fact that you + your ancestors are one.
sit with the thoughts that they wanted something for themselves that was the motivation behind what they did in their lifetime.
sit with the thoughts that you are a walking manifestation of everything they dreamed about + hoped to become.
free write in your journal how connected you feel to your ancestors, no matter how shallow or deep the connection may be. what do you hope to learn, if anything, from your ancestral lineage?
