what’s the obsession with perfection?
what life prize do you get for being perfect, fam?
first of all — perfection is an illusion.
being that it’s so subjective, it doesn’t even truly exist as a “thing”.
secondly, it’s used as a crutch to start.
when we do things in life, there is a 50/50 chance we will do it how we intended to do it the first time.
after we’ve established whether or not what we’re doing is on par with our overall goals + intentions, it’s up to us to lean into the experience.
once we start, we have the opportunity to pay attention to the details + make/mold the experience into what we consider a “perfect” experience.
today, whether it’s “perfect” or not, do what must be done + do it to the best of your ability.
perfect or not, you are starting, you are making an effort, + you are taking a critical step in your life by simply doing.
don’t hold yourself to a standard right now, fam —
you are figuring it out as you go + learning on the fly.
grace is a critical + integral part of living life on your own terms.
as you grow, you’ll notice from where you’ve come + can witness your progress in real time.
right now, it’s crucial that you give yourself space to learn + grow without using perfection as a measuring stick for your current capabilities.
with time, effort, patience, + consistent practice, you will get to the level of performance you wish to reside.
trust the process.
be you, be dope!
