the reason you’re all about matching energy

there is truly no other reason to match energy except to penalize someone else for their behavior.

when someone is acting how we expect or want them to act + the love is reciprocated, it’s easy for us to flow with + match their energy.

however, when others are giving us the blues by acting unbecoming to us, we sometimes have a tendency to match energy to give them “a dose of their own medicine” so to speak.

we ain’t gotta do all that, fam.

today, realize you have a choice to make on how you want to show up + represent who you say you are.

you can match energy all day, travel to the pits of hell + meet someone at the exact place where they got you messed up

or

you can decide to remember who you are, remember where you want to focus your time + efforts, + pour yourself into that way of life… + of course leave them where they got you messed up.

the choice is always yours to make, fam.

how you decide to show up is a choice, albeit a choice that is sometimes hard to make in the spur of the moment.

hard doesn’t mean impossible.

it’s hard to turn your life around, hard to change + take responsibility for your actions, but it’s also hard to maintain a lifestyle that doesn’t align with the goals you have for your life; that doesn’t align with the experiences you want to have + the lifestyle you want to live.

choose your hard.

distractions will appear, so remember that distractions are meant to distract you.

thankfully, you can always choose who you want to be in this moment, which includes choosing to live your life on purpose with purpose.

what will you choose?

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

recall a time when you left someone where you matched energy. how do you feel about that energy matching exchange today? was it worth you stooping to their level to get your point across? why or why not?
