when you opened your eyes this morning, can you recall the first thing you saw?
did you notice the sunlight peeking through your window shades?
did you notice how hittin’ bussin’ that morning stretch was for your body?
did you notice how quickly you reached for your phone or tv remote? what were you rushing to see?
did you notice the first words you said out loud for the day? what were they?
did you notice the first words you said to your loved ones today? what were they?
have you encouraged yourself today? if so, what did you say?
has gratitude left your lips today? if so, what did you say you are grateful for?
did you notice the weather change?
did you notice the dew on the plants, the cool crisp air, + the kiss of cold on your nose?
did you notice how regulated your body feels after hugging someone?
did you notice how easily you let off that smile this morning? can you recall what prompted it?
today, slow all the way down + take your time noticing.
notice the subtleties, notice the nuances.
notice how automatic you move, notice when your lead with intention.
be present today.
notice where you are,
what you’re doing,
who you’re doing it for,
why you’re doing it,
+ how you’re doing it.
in all that you do today, do something that means something to you.
gone are the days where we pride ourselves on being a busy body.
now’s the time to notice how effective it is to slow down + to pause, even when it’s for a moment in time.
+ if you notice you ain’t vibin’ with what you’re doing, now’s the time to do something about it.
be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:
here’s a true test of strength —
write down the challenges you’re currently facing. once you have your list, write “crushed it” beside each one.
see the list, feel yourself conquering the list, + then forget about the list.
you said it’s crushed so guess what? it’s crushed. strengthening your mental looks like moving as if whatever you desire is already done + worked out for you. you know what must be done — do it.
