no matter what you’ve heard from others about yourself
or what you’ve told yourself about yourself,
i want you to remember this:
you have the final say.
you don’t have to listen to that nonsense.
internalizing what’s been said when you know that ain’t you is easier said than done.
as much as people want to pretend, i won’t: words can hurt.
when you hear something over + over, regardless of whether it’s true or not, it can stick with you.
the best way to combat that shit?
prep your mind.
give yourself a fighting chance to stand up against adversity.
read something uplifting daily — heyyyy a daily dose of dope! 👋🏾
keep some positive words on deck:
that shit’s not true —
i can do this.
i’ve got what it takes.
i am enough.
meditate.
pray.
whatever you can do to pour into yourself, do that.
it’s hard for lies, for fear, or for anxiety to settle into your psyche when your mind doesn’t have the space to house it in the first place.
people are gonna say shit, hell your own mind will come up with the bullshit if you aren’t careful —
don’t believe any of it.
you have the final say, fam.
believe that you’ve got what it takes…
because you do!
be you, be dope!
