don’t wait until tragedy strikes

don’t wait until tragedy strikes before you’re inclined to do this,

take the time to do this right now.

you’ve gained so much over the years —

friends that you can call family,

family that you can call on for whatever whenever.

you’re healthy, you’ve got a roof over your head, you’ve got clarity + peace —

what more can you ask for?

appreciate what you have right here, right now.

you’ve got breath in your body + life to live.

you have hopes, dreams, + aspirations.

you have the freedom of choice.

how many times have you overlooked that this week alone?

everything you’ve ever wanted out of life is available to you now.

now is when you uncover your buried strength + use it for the challenge that awaits you,

now is when you realize that you’ve always had what you’ve needed + have never been without,

now is when you discover the power of gratitude + appreciate + how much of a profound effect they can have on your life.

you don’t need more, fam. you’ve got it all.

take a moment to appreciate your accumulated wealth —

witnessing the sunrise + sunset,

participating in meaningful + purposeful work,

your connection with some dope people —

you’re tremendously blessed, fam.

you have a beautiful life.

do you see it, too?

be you, be dope!

there’s something about tragedy that makes us more appreciative.

before the unimaginable happens, write down what are you most grateful for today.
