if not you, then who?

with your ability to fend for yourself, it is very easy to forget that you are ultimately a part of something way bigger.

for so long, you’ve been used to doing for yourself also known as adultin‘.

from paying your own bills,

to choosing where you want to live,

to waking up + laying down when you want,

to eating what you want to eat,

to going where you want to go,

it seems you are living in a world all of your own.

you are not alone in this world, fam.

outside of your own thoughts, beliefs, + life experiences exists community.

within community, you can find things that aren’t readily available to you as an individual:

refuge, support, + my personal favorite: communion.

today, as a member of your community, think about the responsibility you hold in everyone’s pursuit of freedom.

while you are frolicking around living your best life, there are those who suffer + struggle in their day to day life.

care, compassion, + kindness go a long way.

you are not responsible for the decisions others make for their lives; however, you are responsible for providing space, grace, + your best efforts (your gifts included) to build up + enhance the community around you.

don’t go into today thinking you have to continue doing life all on your own.

while you’re an adult that makes adult decisions, you are also a member of a community + all that you do inadvertently affects those around you.

your community is your responsibility, too, fam.

call up your friends + family with genuine concern about them + their well-being, show up physically for your people, + connect with likeminded individuals to speak up + take action to uplift, rectify, + balance communal concerns.

in all that you do, you are making a difference in this world.

be you, be dope!
