what you gone do when i disagree with you?

disagreements will ensue,

opinions that don’t support what you believe will form,

+

people will have something to say about how you choose to live your life.

remain confident in your decisions, fam.

of course, when you gain new information it’s okay to change your mind, but don’t allow their discomfort to make you change who you are + what you believe.

change your mind because you want to change your mind, not because you feel that’s what’s best to diffuse a situation or make others like you.

acceptance doesn’t mean you have to change your thoughts, it means you accept that the other person has their own thoughts + are entitled to think on those things without conforming to what you believe.

there’s no need to defend your stance to no end,

no need to argue + raise your voice,

+

certainly no need to flex credentials as if that makes a difference.

changing minds isn’t your end goal here, fam.

hearts + minds change naturally when people witness the power of acceptance; when they feel the love even in the mist of a disagreement.

allow disagreements to happen, + provide a safe + loving space for others to express their own grievances + opinions —

without judgement, without ridicule, + without feeling pressured to change your mind.

be you, be dope!
