you name it, it’s in there!

picture this (at your own risk):

there’s a puddle of water outside.

in it, you can see all types of shit floating around —

pollen,
bacteria,
algae,
a loogie of spit,
deceased bugs —

you name it, it’s there. 😷

tell me: if someone put that water in a cup + gave it to you to drink, would you consume that water?

now listen, i can’t speak on your behalf, but know it’s an absolute, empathic no from me, dawg. 😖

i can’t help but to note that what we’re actively avoiding in that puddle of filth isn’t too far off from what we mentally consume in our every day lives.

think of the mental cesspools we indulge in every day —

  • fear-mongering + sensationalizing headlines
  • videos involving abuse, violence, + death
  • mass cancellation campaigns
  • gossip sites
  • music with messages that go against what we stand for
  • periodicals that highlight more negative than positive ideation

if we wouldn’t physically consume filthy water, why would we subject ourselves to the consumption of mental filth?

is the risk of being “in the know” worth the reward?

today, i challenge you to take note of what you’re mentally consuming + actively resist what doesn’t align with your desired lifestyle.

what does your mind, body, + spirit need today?

fill your mind with thoughts of hope,
with thoughts of love,
with thoughts of peace,
with thoughts of passion, joy, + gratefulness,

+ you will be hard pressed to find room for anything else.

just because someone serves you filth doesn’t mean you have to consume it, fam.

you can acknowledge the filth exists without consuming it for confirmation.

be choosey,
be mindful,
be intentional,
+
consume what you’re offered at your own risk.

be you, be dope!
