you want support —
well… do you give it? in what ways to do you support yourself + others?
you want to feel loved —
do you give unconditional love?
you want more peace in your life —
do you offer peaceful interactions?
you want to surround yourself with people who are steeped in honesty + patience, who are passionate + excited about life —
do you walk in honesty? are you honest with yourself + about your current situation?
are you patient with yourself + others?
what are your passionate about + what do you find exciting? do you share that passion + excitement with others?
whether you’re offering it to yourself or to others doesn’t matter much; however, one thing is for sure:
in order to receive, one must be willing to give.
imagine, for a moment, that you walk into a dimly lit room full of people.
it’s hard to make out exactly where you are + what’s inside, but you have a flashlight in your hands that you’re able to use to brighten up the room that can help with the limited visibility everyone currently has.
what do you do?
shine your muthafuckin’ light, fam.
give us all a chance to see what we have inside by sharing with us your light; your gift.
you may find that your light exposes a situation you’d rather not be a part of.
you may also find that your light exposes a community of people that are exactly what you’re looking for —
folks who love hard, who are supportive, + who are filled with qualities that you covet most.
the opportunity for them to repay you in kind lies in your ability to put yourself out there.
show us what it looks like to support one another + to love another.
give us a glimpse into what a peaceful life looks like by demonstrating to us what that looks like in your life.
we all have something to offer one another.
see the goodness in people + find a way to amplify their gifts.
that flashlight will eventually need batteries, yanno?
+ because of your willingness to share your light, the ones with the batteries can see that they have them to give + can find you when you need them most.
be you, be dope!
